5th Jany. 1899
sir,
In confirmation of my telegram of the 18th.
instant copy of which is annexed, I have the honour to state
that I have accepted the resignation of Miss Catherine Mc. In-
tosh,Matron of the Government Civil Hospital, with effect from
the 14th.March next, on which date she desires to retire from
the service on account of private affairs.
Miss Barker, the next Senior Nursing Sister on
the staff is recommended to me by the Principal Civil Medical
Officer as Miss Mc. Intosh's successor. I beg to endorse that
recommendation and to repeat my request that another Nurse may
be engaged on the usual terms to fill the vacancy thus caused
on the staff. As it is important that the nursing staff should
be at its full strength in the Spring,I trust that no delay in
appointing another nurse will arise.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your most obedient
Humble Servant,
Huny
GOVERNOR,&C.
The Right Honourable
